CASSADEE POPE OF HEY MONDAY |
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS STEPHEN JERZAK, JUSTIN YOUNG, DARLING PARADE, AND CALL TO ATTRACTION |

In 2004, at the age of 14, Pope started singing in local bands. She began as a singer in the award-winning St. Ann School Jazz Band while in middle school in West Palm Beach. While in high school in Wellington, Florida, Pope formed the band Blake (titled after her middle name) with good friend Mike Gentile. Unfortunately the project disbanded before being signed. In 2008, she and Gentile then, with Alex Lipshaw, Michael “Jersey” Moriaty, and Elliot James, founded the pop punk band Hey Monday. At the end of 2009, Pope confirmed via her Twitter that Elliot James had departed the band. She appeared in Fall Out Boy’s video for “America’s Suitehearts”, from their 2008 album Folie à Deux. In the video, Pope plays a girl wearing large glasses talking by the telephone who is then kidnapped. She also provided guest vocals for The Cab’s remix version of their song Take My Hand that appeared on Fall Out Boy’s mixtape, Welcome to the New Administration, and appeared in the music video for it the following summer of 2009. On October 7, 2008, Hey Monday released their first studio album , Hold on Tight. Pope wrote two songs and co-wrote the other nine songs. Also, she provided vocals for American cowpunk band 500 Miles to Memphis album “Sunshine in a Shot Glass” in a song entitled “Darlin’”. She had a guest appearance as herself in the Degrassi: The Next Generation TV Movie, Degrassi Goes Hollywood, along with Pete Wentz. With Hey Monday being sponsored by clothing company Glamour Kills, Pope has subsequently modelled for their online store. On March 15, 2010, Pope announced via her Twitter that she had finished recording vocals for the second album “Beneath It All”. It will be released on August 17, 2010. She also makes a brief appearance in All Time Low’s CD/DVD, Straight to DVD, released in May 2010. She, her bandmates as well as band members of Stereo Skyline appeared on an episode of MTV’s Silent Library. She has done guest vocals live with The Academy Is…, All Time Low, Attack Attack!, The Cab, Cobra Starship, Fall Out Boy, This Providence, and We the Kings. |

Parabelle has seen band changes throughout it's short music career thus far. Finding the perfect fit is a timely process but now is the time that things feel right. A hard working group of guys that will do whatever it takes to continue making music for its fans. Kevin Matisyn (evans blue) and Gio are still going strong and with the addition of Kyle Mathis and Joe Maurer of Neverset the band has that ability to put on the amazing live show they've always wanted to. Aaron Burton rounds out the new line up filling in for all the lead work. This is a band that will be rising up and it will be on their own terms.
Para - close to, resembling.
Belle - beautiful.
They say that hindsight is 20/20 but they say a lot of things. You have been told that you should not live in the past but no one warns you about dying there. Sometimes a clearer vision of what's ahead gives you a blurry look at whats behind. If life was a chance, it'd be one that was free. If true love is blind then how can it find me?
Maybe the winding road is the one you're supposed to be on because it's destination is equally important. It leads you to a home you hope to have. Love is a common bond for an unusual enemy. Even your best friends are not the ones that were there while things were being built; they were the ones that stuck around long enough to see you rebuild.
This is what it's called when you take back what never should have been taken. It's about owning what is already yours; your mistakes and your successes. It's about getting out of a rut. It's what you call it when the weight of the world tries to win but fails. It's when you're brought to the brink and take one more painful step. It's when you hit the ground running. It's when you realize that no one can stop you from REASSEMBLING THE ICONS. |

Artist Biography:
The emo-pop quartet Allstar Weekend was formed in 2007 by Zachary Porter (vocals), Nathan Darmody (guitar), Cameron Quiseng (bass), and Michael Martinez (drums) in San Diego, CA, while all four members were still in high school. Inspired by hometown heroes like blink-182 and classic rock icons like Queen and Elton John, Allstar Weekend began writing songs and playing shows around their hometown. While they were building their local fan base, the bandmembers also wrote and recorded songs for their MySpace page. These early tracks caught the ear of the duo behind Drive-Thru Records, Richard and Stefanie Reines, who became their managers. The next step was national attention, and Allstar Weekend got plenty when they were picked for Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing promotion in 2008, which resulted in a contract with Hollywood Records.
The first single released by the band, “A Different Side of Me,” reached the top of Radio Disney’s Top 30 Countdown and sold over 100,000 copies. Meanwhile, Allstar Weekend's YouTube videos (for the aforementioned single and “Journey to the End of My Life”) racked up an impressive amount of viewings, and their debut mini-album Suddenly was released in June 2010. Produced by a set of proven emo-pop producers (Howard Benson, John Feldmann, and S*A*M & Sluggo), the record showcased the band’s youthful exuberance and knack for a catchy chorus. The band spent the rest of the year on the road playing a mix of venues that included Army bases, children’s museums, theme parks, and concert halls. |

THE WORLDS #1 TRIBUTE TO BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND |
| |
Bruce In The USA is much more than just another tribute… This high-energy musical experience is a note-perfect and visually accurate recreation of a Bruce Springsteen & The E. St. Band show.
Matt Ryan, from the World Famous “Legends In Concert” cast, played the Springsteen character for eight years, in their “full scale” Las Vegas show. The great success with “Legends” evolved his character into the Bruce In The USA show. His amazing portrayal of “The Boss” (not to mention his jaw-dropping resemblance) is as close as you can get to see the real thing in concert. Backed by a strong, powerful Clarence “The Big Man” Clemons…and a smokin’ handed “Little Stevie”, Bruce In The USA takes this genre of performance art to a whole new level. Making it the World’s #1 Tribute to the E. St. Band’s legacy. |

WITH SPECIAL GUEST AMBASSADORS |

When electro-rock sensation Lights first hit the music scene in 2008, she was just a songwriter with a synth and a dream. Her name may have been pluralized but Lights Poxleitner was a one-woman show who played and programmed her own instruments and sang her own lyrics.
This admirable self-reliance is rare in pop—in fact, Lights, signed a publishing deal at 16 and began writing songs for other artists—but after her 2008 self-titled debut EP (precocious enough to earn her a best new artist Juno) and gold-selling full-length follow-up The Listening, Lights was ready to open herself up to collaborations on her unexpectedly experimental album Siberia. And by choosing such leftfield collaborators as live electronic outfit Holy Fuck and rising rapper Shad, she also opened up her sound.
“It’s a huge step,” she readily admits. “For a year after my first record, I was confused and searching. I was writing all over the place and not finding anything that was essentially different. But after tour last year I was turned onto dubstep.”
The genre’s grimy beats and sonic minimalism influenced the creation of Siberia, if not necessarily shaping the music itself (though she does pay homage with a dubstep drop on “Fourth Dimension.”)
Rather, dubstep led Lights away from the “perfection” of her past work. “Everything was tuned and timed just right. The new stuff is raw and gritty but still pop with a focus on the melodies. It’s the marriage of those two that make it really different and unlike anything I’ve ever done before.”
This dirtier direction came from collaborating with Holy Fuck, a fellow Juno-winning, electronic-influenced Canadian act who she met when both played the dance stage at last year’s Reading and Leeds festivals in the UK. Impressed by their “grime and grit,” she decided to see what might happen when she infused her pop sensibilities with their experimental tendencies.
“I went over to Brian [Borcherdt’s] house with Graham [Walsh] and we just started jamming until something started to form, as opposed to the last record which was more structured and less live feeling. We wired old synths and toy synths through all these pedals and machines from their junk table,” she laughs. “They’re straight-up mad scientists.”
Her other main collaborator was Shad, who she knew through a mutual friend. “He’s so humble and so intelligent,” she says, “and I knew he’d kill it.” Indeed, Shad drops his typically articulate knowledge on the crunchy, soiled “Everybody Breaks a Glass” and “Flux and Flow,” which Lights describes as “the perfect marriage of this sweet melody and the hardest beat ever. It’s about how that applies to life because you have to be soft and you have to be strong.”
Lyrically, the album is light years from her last, which was written when the singer, who spent much of her childhood travelling to places like the Philippines and Jamaica with her missionary parents, had left the nest and landed in Toronto. “A lot of those songs came from a sad but hopeful place. I was alone and pondering a lot. I’m a lot more aware of the person I am now and each of these songs is about an experience I’ve gone through,” she says. “This record came from a very happy place.”
Then why is it called Siberia? “It’s based on something that was said to me, that we could be happy even in a place like Siberia. It was such an inspiring thing to say, because Siberia is cold and a little daunting and represents unfamiliar territory.” That last bit is particularly sticky for Lights, who left her safe pop haven for these unexplored sonics, though the metaphor carries even further because despite being an infamous land of ice and exile, Siberia is epically beautiful and so is Siberia.
The dividend from her early award-winning success—not to mention her sprawling online footprint which includes over a half-million Facebook fans and over a quarter-million Twitter followers, not to mention a cult fanbase amongst the Comic-Con set—is her current artistic freedom.
Her up-for-anything experimentations with Holy Fuck produced an astoundingly eclectic album that belies its snow white title. Siberia’s diversity leapfrogs from the hip-shaking dance-pop of “Toes” and the arms-up anthem “Banner” to the singer-songwriter-y romantic ballad “Cactus in the Valley,” written on an acoustic guitar, and the nine- minute instrumental album closer “Day One” which sounds crafted by a rusty, lovesick robot—but that didn’t make recording her sophomore album any easier.
“For the first one, nobody had any expectations for what I was supposed to sound like. You write your first record only for yourself. You don’t have fans yet and there are no preconceptions. So I had to reinvent myself all over again, rediscover myself as an artist and remember I can do whatever I want.”
Siberia‘s beats skitter and thwack, the retro electronics fire like decomposing lasers and the analog synths dirty up her trademark pretty melodies, propelling Lights’ emotion-soaked but still-cute croon into her sprawling, imperfect new sound.
Call it anti-electro, dream-step or perhaps even grit-pop. Whatevs. Just rest assured that it’s the same bright Lights; she’s just built herself a bigger city. |

Artist Biography:
The Saw Doctors are an Irish rock band. Formed in 1986 in Tuam, County Galway.
They have achieved eighteen top-thirty singles in Ireland, including three number ones. Their first number one, "I Useta Lover," topped the Irish charts for nine consecutive weeks in 1990 and held the record for the country's all-time biggest-selling single.
Renowned for their barnstorming live performances, the band has a loyal following, especially in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
On 15 February 2008, they received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards.
After a 17 year breaks between number 1's The band returned to the top of the Charts in October 2008 with a cover of the Sugababes "About You Now" proving that after more than 20 years they are still one of Ireland's most popular rock acts.
"One of the world's most appealing roots rock outfits." - Washington Post
"The band's formula can best be described as one part Creedence, one part Hootie, and one part Irish Historical Society" - Rolling Stone Magazine
"The Saw Doctors are the very definition of the people's band." - Q Magazine
"One of the Great Live Bands"
Chris Evans, BBC Radio 2
'There is a special place in rock 'n' roll mythology reserved for that rare phenomenon, the people's band. The Grateful Dead, The Faces, Status Quo and Bruce Springsteen during his years as leader of the E Street Band are examples which define the breed: performers who have established a special relationship with their audience irrespective of marketing budgets and media approval, and for whom the dictates of fashion are broadly meaningless. The Saw Doctors are the latest in this strangely noble line" - The Times |

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS WE ARE THE UNION, SUNDAY MORNING PINT, & THE BLOODY SEAMEN |
| |
Coming from the predominantly Irish neighborhoods of South-Side Chicago, the Tossers have been expanding the boundaries of contemporary Irish music since the early '90s. The band chose their name for its derogatory meaning of throw away. The term dates back to Shakespeare and depending on who you ask it also means commode, drunk or the bunk British currency the Irish rejected after their independence in the 1920s.
Although their name may be irreverent, their music certainly is not. The heart of their distinct sound is derived through the melding of traditional Irish and Punk Rock roots. Combining traditional instrumentation of mandolin, fiddle, tin whistle and banjo with amphetamine fueled guitar, bass and drums, the Tossers play with a furious edge that teeters between rage and raucousness.
With over 18 years of the music grind behind them, the Tossers are a staple in the Celtic Punk and Folk scenes. Currently the band has six full length albums, the newest of which is "On a Fine Spring Eveing" their third release on Victory Records.
While their live shows are fueled with a little bit of blood and sweat and a whole lot of whiskey and beer, their albums are dedicated to musical elegance and provocation. Possessing the ability to masterfully employ stark tempo changes from the brink of the insane to the solemness of an Irish ballad, the Tossers are an act that does not disappoint in print or in person.
Never afraid to take on new challenges at any venue for any audience the Tossers have had an eclectic past playing with acts such as the legendary Pogues, Spider Stacy (solo), the Popes, the Dropkick Murphy's, Stiff Little Fingers, Black 47 and Flogging Molly. In addition to this Irish menagerie they've also toured with hardcore favorites like Clutch and Murphy's Law; rockabilly icons Reverend Horton Heat and the Horror Pops; SKA classics like the Pie Tasters, Reel Big Fish and Catch 22; and moody rock n' rollers Murder By Death. The list goes on, as does the band. |

Artist Biography:
"It's a long way to the top if you want to Rock 'n Roll." That line from the AC/DC classic, "It's a Long Way to the Top," rings true for many legendary rock and metal bands who have persevered and overcome years of adversity to accomplish world-wide recognition. Writing good music is just one part of being successful. As difficult as that can be, creating and adhering to a sound marketing and business strategy is an equally important component to a musician’s success.
Those very different challenges must be accounted for in a musician's vision if they are to have a remote shot of making a living as a songwriter. The clearer the vision, the clearer the path to be taken, although vision and marketing alone don't guarantee a successful journey. A myriad of intangibles must also come into play at exactly the right times. The few uncompromising musicians who pride themselves on the integrity of their craft can surely plan to encounter a path less traveled and sewn with more mountains and valleys than the road clogged with chameleons sacrificing their visions to cash in on the current fads. For two decades, Jon Schaffer and his vehicle, ICED EARTH, have taken the long, high road of non-compromise to reach the rarified air breathed by those few who enjoy lasting commercial success writing and performing music in the Heavy Metal genre.
While the journey to the top continues on, it certainly appears that the roughest roads of ICED EARTH’S journey are behind them. The dead end streets are now recognized for what they are and the open highway lies ahead for ICED EARTH. The vehicle's tank remains full of Jon's unique blend of high-octane passion and desire. Lessons learned over the past 20 years ("getting ripped off," and "getting had," not to mention "getting old," and "getting grey") have provided Jon with the ability to navigate through the fog and illusions of the music industry. But it wasn't always that way.
Today’s ICED EARTH highway started in the early 1970s on nothing more than an average American side street in northeast Indiana. It was there, in a humble blue-collar town, where Jon was first exposed to music from legendary bands such as KISS, BLACK SABBATH, BLUE OYSTER CULT, and ALICE COOPER. By the age of four, Jon had become a dedicated fan to the sounds of hard rock and heavy metal. Jon’s exposure to the world of hard and heavy music came from his older sister. The two spent many hours in their youth escaping some of the harsh realities around them by listening to the bands that would be responsible in shaping what would become Iced Earth. In 1979, a life-changing event took place when Jon’s father took him to see KISS at the age of 11. The sonic experience combined with a bombastic stage show only KISS could deliver struck a lifelong “curse” upon Jon that night – an unrelenting and uncompromising desire to constantly push his talents to the limits and to write songs worthy of his name.
As is the case with so many teens making the transformation from adolescence to adulthood, Jon would become increasingly frustrated with authority figures. The frustration was not born so much from the authority that adults possessed, but rather that many of these adults didn’t take lightly to their authority being questioned.
All children are born with a sense of curiosity. Adults have the option to embrace it, or crush it. At a very young age, Jon’s curiosity was driven by a need to understand not just how things work, but why they work. That desire for understanding is as strong today as it was in his youth. “That’s just the way it’s going to be,” or, “Because I said so,” weren’t satisfactory answers for Jon. Questioning authority was a right Jon held sacred. Unfortunately, a few of the clergy entrusted to provide Jon with a Lutheran education found his right to question the system and it’s beliefs anything but sacred. Such negative experiences left scars that would later provide inspiration for the soon-to-be songwriter.
The above is not to suggest that Jon was a saint while growing up in Indiana – he certainly wasn’t. His attitude towards authority was tainted by a growing, bitter resentment of authority figures that could not provide answers for their actions. These negative sources of authority would in-turn poison his views of all authority, even the authority that loved and cared for him most.
The frustration of Jon’s teen years in Indiana culminated with the tragic death of his best friend who lost his life to a motorcycle accident. His mind clouded and in need of respite, Jon would make the biggest decision of his life in deciding to leave home in 1984 at the age of 16 with only a cantankerous used car and a couple of hundred dollars to his name. A thousand miles away from the distractions in Indiana, Jon would start paving the roads in Tampa, Florida to take him to the land he promised himself that night in 1979.
If Jon didn’t know it already, he would soon learn that for every action there is a reaction. Jon traded his parent’s roof for the roof of his car that doubled as his home early in Tampa. When that car was totaled in an accident that nearly took his life, the metal roof was traded for leaking wooden roves of abandoned homes. Street smarts, not book smarts would be needed to keep the 16 year-old alive on the streets of Tampa. Income earned from jobs as a day laborer provided the income necessary to save enough money to get an apartment and eventually led to being hired as a laborer for a roofing company. Jon spent the next three years doing hot mop roofing in the Florida sun during the day, and building the vision of his band and rehearsing at night.
At the time the band was called Purgatory, and eventually became Iced Earth when he changed the name in 1988. Jon’s first vision of his band began life under the moniker THE ROSE, which was very short lived. A bit of THE ROSE lives on however, as the font Jon used for the band’s logo went on to be used in the PURGATORY logo and ICED EARTH’s current day logo. He designed the logo for THE ROSE in graphics art class, early in the year as a sophomore in high school. These are the only bands that Jon has ever been involved in (and of course, later in his career he co-founded DEMONS & WIZARDS and started his own solo project with SONS OF LIBERTY), and has led the way in each and every one, all the way through to present day.
The harsh realities of living a homeless life on the street forced Jon to grow up fast. America was a land of opportunity, but it wasn’t going to give him anything for free. Everything had to be earned. To his credit, he was keenly aware of this when deciding to leave home. Sacrifice, determination, integrity, and unwillingness to compromise would be the tools used to pave the early dirt roads and then widen them into streets of opportunity. Ironically, these lessons were learned from people that had died no less than 200 years before Jon’s birth.
Before leaving Indiana, Jon’s time in school was more a source of aggravation than enjoyment. However, that was not the case when studying history, especially the period of the American Revolution. While many of his peers were decorating their rooms with posters of their favorite sports stars and movie characters, Jon’s room was painted with stars, stripes, and screaming eagles to honor his heroes. They were none other than men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin. Their willingness to stand up for what they believed in and to pursue it at all costs in the face of overwhelming odds struck a chord with Jon that has never stopped resonating. He would use the courage and confidence of his country’s Founding Fathers to build his own sense of self. That sense of self, complimented by the knowledge that anything is possible if you’re willing to totally dedicate yourself to the cause, gave Jon the strength to carry out on his own in Florida despite the odds being stacked squarely against him.
Keeping pace with Jon’s pursuit was no easy task. Some band members couldn’t keep up and were replaced. Others grew weary of the chase and left to pursue other career interests. However, important constants set in place in 1984 with the bands first demo, PSYCHOTIC DREAMS; under then band moniker PURGATORY, have never left.
Always grounded by a gut instinct grown keener with each passing year, a work ethic framed by inner integrity, and an unwavering commitment to give ICED EARTH fans nothing less than 100% of what he is capable of, has in turn rewarded Jon and ICED EARTH with one of the most loyal fan bases that any band in any genre could hope to enjoy. A fact that they are extremely appreciative of everyday.
In 2007, ICED EARTH released its eighth full-length studio release FRAMING ARMAGEDDON (Something Wicked Part 1), which expands the "Something Wicked" storyline first introduced in the trilogy of the same name appearing on the 1998 release, SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES. The "Something Wicked" story is so expansive and timely that its follow-up, the ninth full-length studio release THE CRUCIBLE OF MAN (Something Wicked Part 2), quickly followed in 2008. The pair of releases form the pillars of a massive undertaking to tell one of the most complex and epic stories ever attempted in contemporary music.
Which brings us to 2011.
The magical nexus of art and life – the knife’s edge where raw artistic passion meets focused creative expression – is the space all serious musicians seek…but few find.
On DYSTOPIA, the new album from American metal icons ICED EARTH, Jon Schaffer found that space. And made it his own.
In much the same way HORROW SHOW (ICED EARTH’s tribute to classic characters from literature and movies) was born, Schaffer’s interest in dystopian themes in literature and movies led him to try his hand at that genre as well – even paying homage on the new album to the movies Dark City, V For Vendetta, and Soylent Green.
Add a pinch of Orwell (“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever”), a soupcon of Blade Runner, and a smattering of headlines from around the world and – voila! – you get DYSTOPIA…perhaps ICED EARTH’s heaviest and most menacing album to date.
A blistering 10-song tour-de-force that explores the nightmarish Orwellian world of the future (or is it the present?), DYSTOPIA runs the gamut of poignant ballads, bone-crushing riffs, stratospheric vocals, and chilling lyrics. It is a soul-searing album not for the faint of heart.
Of special interest to long-time fans of the band are two songs on DYSTOPIA (the title track and “Tragedy and Triumph”) that feature the return of the “Something Wicked” storyline and “Set Abominae” – who, when last seen in THE CRUCIBLE OF MAN (2008), had taken his position as ruler of the world.
Now armed with the dynamic vocal range of vocalist Stu Block (fresh from his success with prog-metal favorites INTO ETERNITY), and a renewed passion he hasn’t felt for many years, Schaffer forged an album that cannot be ignored.
It is an album whose time has come...
...and a massive world tour you won't want to miss. |

Doors open at 6:00PM
Artist Biography:
The DIRTY ROTTEN IMBECILES' history begins on May 2, 1982 around 4:00pm, in the city of Houston,TX. It was on this day that the musically aggressive quartet we now know as D.R.I. made their first Dirty Rotten noise and called it a song. Back then it was Spike Cassidy (guitar), Kurt Brecht (vocals), Eric Brecht (drums), and Dennis Johnson (bass).
The group ...started practicing at Kurt and Eric's parents home, where the brothers lived amongst the "Madman" (their father). They practiced a few nights a week around 5:00pm, just as the Madman would be on his way home from a hard day at work. He would open his front door only to be blasted with 120db of the band's horrendous attempt to make music. The Madman would then pound on their jam room door until he was let in so that in turn, he could throw them out of his house calling them such things as "... you bunch of dirty rotten imbeciles". This is how D.R.I. got their name.
2 months later, on July 2,1982, the band played their first show at Joe Star's OMNI, in Houston.
On November 6th & 7th of 1982 D.R.I. recorded their first release, the Dirty Rotten EP, stuffing 22 songs into 18 minutes on a 7" EP that played at 33 rpm's. Only 1000 copies of this EP version were pressed, making it now a very rare collector's item. Demand caused this EP to be pressed into a 12" LP version, released in 1983, appropriately called Dirty Rotten LP. Leaving the underground music scene thriving for more, DRLP became a major success and also an inspiration for many new bands at the time. Soon after D.R.I. was labeled the fastest band in the world.
In 1983 D.R.I. moved to San Francisco, where they lived in their van and ate at soup kitchens in between gigs. Dennis Johnson quit the band and returned home to Texas. He was replaced with Sebastion Amok, and within a few months D.R.I. found themselves on the "Rock Against Reagan" tour with the Dead Kennedy's. At the conclusion of this tour, they replaced Sebastion Amok with Josh Pappe`.
Their next release was the 4 song, 7", Violent Pacification EP, in 1984. After touring in the summer of 1984, Eric Brecht got married and left the band. He was replaced with Felix Griffin.
D.R.I.'s second full length release, Dealing With It , came in March 1985. The group toured extensively in support of the album. Sometime during the recording of the album, Josh took a leave from the band. Mikey Offender (bass player of the Offenders) was asked to play for the album, although Spike played bass on the songs that Mikey didn't have time to learn.
The songs on DWI pointed slightly towards a metal direction, but still remained very hardcore. Almost legendary is the band's recording of "Madman", where Kurt's dad is mad and disturbs a rehearsal. The band gains a real cult status, supported by such fans as Dave Lombardo (Slayer), who tells everyone he's influenced by D.R.I.
On April 26th, 1986, they recorded their show at the Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, and released the video, which was entitled Live At The Olympic.
Their third album, Crossover, released in 1987, was perfectly named since the songs on this album had a strong metal sound to them. As the band began to "crossover" to thrash, their songs became longer, slower, and more complex. The press has called D.R.I. the major band of the "crossover" movement, a style that combined punk, hardcore, and metal. This music invited a mixed audience of punks, skinheads, and metal fans to their shows, who introduced things like stage diving and slam dancing.
The 'Live at the Ritz' video was recorded next, on June 27th 1987, at 'the Ritz' in New York, during the band's worldwide Crossover tour. Also in 1987, one of their songs, 'Snap' appeared on a compilation (with other bands supporting some cause) entitled P.E.A.C.E.
In February of 1988, the Dirty Rotten Imbeciles returned to the studio to record Four Of A Kind. The songs on this album have even more of a metal sound to them, and production is the best it's ever been. They even released a music video for the song 'Suit and Tie Guy'. At the same time, the Dirty Rotten LP was remixed to include the songs from the Violent Pacification EP, and was re-released.
The band toured Europe again to support the Four of A Kind album, then once home in the U.S., Josh Pappe` leaves the band because of an offer to play for Gang Green. He is replaced by John Menor.
September 1989 brought the release of Thrash Zone. Two music videos were released from this album. One for 'Beneath the Wheel' and the other for 'Abduction'. Sometime after this, Felix Griffin leaves the group and is replaced by Rob Rampy.
During the spring of 1992, Definition was released on Spike Cassidy's own label, Rotten Records. A music video was released for the song 'Acid Rain', and later was even featured in an episode of MTV's "Beavis and Butthead".
D.R.I. toured in 1992, opening for Testament, as well as headlining their own shows.
They recorded their gig at the Hollywood Palladium on November 27th, 1992, and it was released in 1994 as their first live album, appropriately entitled Live. It was, more or less, "released as a stepping stone between Definition and Full Speed Ahead". Soon after recording the show, John Menor leaves D.R.I. He is replaced by one of the band's long time friends and roadie, Chumly Porter.
The group also took part in the Lolitabazooka Tour, headlining that tour, in the fall of 1994.
In 1995, D.R.I. released their newest album called Full Speed Ahead. They also made another music video, this time for a song called 'Syringes in the Sandbox'.
In January of 1996, they started touring North America with Acid Bath opening for them. But in April, Rob and Spike ran into some trouble trying to cross the Canadian border because they had both been previously charged with 'Driving Under the Influence' in the U.S. Needless to say, all of their Canadian dates had to be cancelled. And as much as they tour even today, I still don't think Canada will let them in!
During 1997-98 D.R.I. continued to tour the world extensively, including European & S.American dates. In March of 1998 D.R.I. launched their own Official Web site (www.DirtyRottenImbeciles.com).
During 1999, D.R.I. appears as one of the headlining bands on the Social Chaos in North America Tour. One of their songs, 'I'm the Liar', is used for a Social Chaos Tour compilation cd, containing one song from each band that appeared on the tour. During August of 1999, in the middle of the Social Chaos Tour, Chumly leaves the band because he is burnt out on touring, and is replaced by Harald Oimoen. Harald had been working on and off with the band for years, doing everything from photography and merchandise to Bass Tech. The band resumed the tour, only missing 2 shows replacing Chumly.
In the year 2000, D.R.I. Founder/Guitarist, Spike Cassidy, loses Rotten Records to D.R.I. Manager, Ron Peterson in a partnership backstabbing, and a long court battle is sure to commence. D.R.I. fired manager Ron Peterson, took its catalog of CD's, and left Rotten Records in search of a new record label. The band is said to be entertaining a few good offers.
The year also saw the Dirty Rotten Imbeciles headlining their own 'Millennium 2000 Tour' which had been broken into two halves, taking place in the spring & fall of 2000.
D.R.I. is scheduled to embark once again on the "Old School Tour" in the spring of 2001!
For the past 19 years, D.R.I. has been the epitome of the aggressive, hardcore-punk thrash sound that we've all become accustomed to hearing. Throughout this time, they've been one of the few genuine underground bands to remain true to their pure punk roots. Still actively touring and recording, the only thing that may have changed is that they're a little older now, but time hasn't gotten the best of the Dirty Rotten Imbeciles. They're still thrashing just as hard, and just as loud as ever, continuing to overload our senses with the sound that is, and will always remain, uniquely D.R.I. |

As a frequent lead vocalist for late-'80s teen pop sensation New Kids on the Block, Jordan Knight lent his sweet falsetto to such Top Ten hits as "You Got It (The Right Stuff)," "I'll Be Loving You (Forever)," and "Cover Girl." Additionally, Knight added backing vocals and his nascent production skills to records by the likes of Tommy Page and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, and began to step into that latter role for the New Kids as Maurice Starr's influence over the group waned. However, by the time of 1994's Face the Music, their popularity had waned as well, and Knight was virtually silent for several years following the group's subsequent breakup. In one of the unlikelier music industry comebacks, though, Knight -- like fellow New Kid alum Joe McIntyre -- took advantage of a resurgence of interest in teen-oriented "boy bands" (like *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys) to launch a solo career. The single "Give It to You" was released in early 1999 and became a hit, setting the stage for Knight's eponymous solo debut album later that year. Knight continued to tour and make appearances throughout the early 2000s. Though 2004's Jordan Knight Performs New Kids on the Block: The Remix Album was seen by some as opportunism, he returned a year later with The Fix, an EP with a promising adult contemporary feel. Love Songs, a collection of covers of classic romantic pop tunes, followed in 2006; it had a minor adult contemporary hit single in "Say Goodbye," a duet with Debbie Gibson. Knight reunited with New Kids on the Block for the 2008 album The Block and 2011 tour with the Backstreet Boys. That same year he released Unfinished, his first collection of new pop tunes in over ten years. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi |

THE REVIVAL TOUR 2012 FEATURING CHUCK RAGAN |
CHUCK RAGAN (OF HOT WATER MUSIC), DAN ANDRIANO (OF ALKALINE TRIO AND IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM), TOMMY GABEL (OF AGAINST ME!), AND CORY BRANAN |
| |
“The most unique element of The Revival Tour is the camaraderie that it's based on and the collaborations that are bred from that essence,” explains Americana singer/songwriter and original tour organizer Chuck Ragan. Borne from the rich folk tradition of giving and openness and propelled by an innate need to tell a story in its naked acoustic state, The Revival Tour begins its fifth year with a company of amazing storytellers in Ragan, Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio, The Emergency Room), and longtime Lucero collaborator Cory Branan, Tommy Gabel (Against Me!), and renowned singer/songwriter Nathaniel Rateliff. Sponsored by Daytrotter, Paste Magazine, Ernie Ball and Brixton Clothing, The Revival Tour kicks on March 20th in Dallas, TX, making a stop at Austin’s South By Southwest Music Festival, before circling around North America including Canada, adding many surprise guests along the way
Loosely structured in the form of old-fashioned folk musician get-togethers, The Revival Tour is an ensemble collective in which the participating musicians collaborate and jam, frequently creating unique and inspired once-in-a-lifetime moments of brilliance – often multiple times in a single night. "I love the volatile, steel-strung, structureless by design, hydra-headed Revival Tour,” says Cory Branan. “I'm stoked as hell to be involved. I always wanted to join a gang!"
Two-time Revival Tour veteran Dan Andriano adds, “I'm just happy to be a part of this again. The time I had with The Revival Tour overseas last Fall was one of the best I've ever had. The music, the fellowship, the camaraderie... basically everything Chuck has been building over the past years is, to me, what touring and songwriting is all about. So to be asked to be a part of that again here in the U.S. is a real honor... We're gonna have a good time!" |

LEZ ZEPPELIN (ALL FEMALE TRIBUTE TO LED ZEPPELIN) |
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS RUBBER CRUTCH |
| |
Since forming in 2004, the New York City-based quartet has toured throughout the United States and Europe to become the first and foremost female rock act to pay homage to Led Zeppelin and to garner rave reviews across the board. Although, LEZ ZEPPELIN stays true to the musically audacious spirit of the original, delivering the legendary rock band’s blistering arrangements and monstrous sound note-for-note at what often are sold-out frenzied shows around the world, the four women that make for the four essentially diverse elements of the band bring their own unique energy and passion to the music. Indeed, this may be the thing that serves most to set them apart. But then, there is also the seamless and strangely appropriate way in which LEZ ZEPPELIN inject their gender-bending performance into material that is often thought of as an historically male expression. For those who believe this to be the case, all that can be said is: times have changed. |

Sabaton was formed back in 1999 in Falun, Sweden when the members of a band called “Aeon” reformed and rearmed for the upcoming first recording in Moon Music Studio. The founding members of Aeon: Rikard, Pär and Daniel Mullback had joined forces with Oskar and Joakim earlier during the year which had seen a few line-up changes and the guys decided on a fresh start and changed the name of the band to Sabaton. These are the same guys you see on stage today.
In 2001 the band was ready to record more material, and this time they turned to Tommy Tägtgren who were to play a part in the creation of the Sabaton sound, and together they recorded the second half of the bands demo compilation “Fist For Fight” that was released by Underground Symphony later that year.
When 2002 arrived the band returned to Abyss studios and Tommy Tägtgren to record the debut album “Metalizer” that was to be released later that year, but didn’t end up in the record stores until 5 years later.
In 2004, after countless hours of rehearsals and dozens of shows the band got tired of waiting for the release of “Metalizer” that never came and decided to take matters into their own hands.
Primo Victoria – The Battle Begins
Without the support of a record label Sabaton returned to Abyss studios and Tommy Tägtgren and recorded the album “Primo Victoria” which loosely translated means: The first victory, or: The beginning of the victory.
A fitting name, considering it represents a new beginning for the band and also marks the start of the typical war themed Sabaton lyrics.
The band signed up with the label Black Lodge later that year and in 2005 “Primo Victoria” was released
In early 2005, just before the album was released, Daniel Myhr was recruited into the band to relieve Joakim of his keyboard duties and the band was now complete.
This year saw the first Sabaton show outside of Sweden and there were many more just around the corner.
In January 2006 the band headed back into the studio for 3 weeks of intensive recording sessions with Tommy Tägtgren and recorded the album “Attero Dominatus” just before heading out on Sabaton’s first major European tour as supporting act for Edguy and Dragonforce.
Attero Dominatus – The Battle Rages On
Halfway into 2006 “Attero Dominatus” was released and the band headed out on it’s first European headline tour, and even though it wasn’t very long, it was so successful that another one was added right after the first leaving only enough time for the band to jump back to Sweden and do 3 shows with Eurovision winners Lordi before getting back on the road again.
The Attero Dominatus tour continued in Sweden, and when 2007 arrived it was followed up with another major European tour. This time Sabaton supported Therion and Grave Digger and the tour reached into territories where Sabaton had never performed before.
Metalizer – Cease-fire
As the band had been touring with Therion and Grave Digger negotiations between Black Lodge and Underground Symphony had been successfully completed and Sabaton’s debut album “Metalizer” which does not feature lyrics about war was ready for release, 5 years after it was recorded.
This time Sabaton went on a big European headlining tour called “Metalizing Europe” which didn’t go unnoticed and it was followed up by many major festival appearances throughout Europe.
The Art of War – Back in the Trenches
During late 2007 Sabaton performed little, only doing a few shows to stay in shape and 3 appearances on Helloween’s European tour to focus on the creation of the next album, “The Art of War”.
The album was based on the over 2500 years old writings of Sun Tzu, conveniently named The Art of War and the songs on the album follow the same formula and deal with the same subjects as the corresponding chapters of the text.
In January 2008 the band returned to Abyss studios, once again working with Tommy Tägtgren for the recording sessions but involved his brother Peter for the mixing process.
When the single “Cliffs of Gallipoli” was released it hit the Swedish singles chart hard and reached #1 instantly and some time later later sold gold in Sweden.
The album “The Art of War” was also a great success for the band and it received great reviews from all around the globe, it charted on #5 in Sweden and it was also honoured with a Swedish Grammy nomination.
All the hard work, quality and joy Sabaton had put into the music and the touring was finally being recognized and the band made TV appearances in several countries as well as going on the road with their biggest tour so far.
Between May 2008 and December 2009 Sabaton had: managed to perform over 160 shows in more than 20 countries, received honourable citizenships/titles from the Polish government, toured with Hammerfall and Dragonforce, and been honoured with the opportunity to play a headline show in front of 10.000 fans on the battlefield near Wizna where the battle they sing about in the song 40:1 took place exactly 70 years earlier.
Coat of Arms – Full Frontal Assault
Even though the band had been touring extensively, the creative process never ceased and the band were almost ready for the recording of their next album “Coat of Arms” in the end of 2009.
During the latter part of 2009 the band had reached out to their fans and asked them to send in ideas for battles to sing about and the fans responded with thousands of mails, and while preparing for the new album, (in the middle of a tour of course) the band took the next big step and joined the Nuclear Blast family.
The studio facilities where Sabaton recorded their first self titled demo: Moon Music Studio were abandoned at that time and the the guys in the band decided to built their own studio in the same location, thus coming back to where they started out 10 years earlier.
The final composing and the lyrics were made in December of 2009 and in January 2010 the band headed back to Abyss Studios to track the drums, this time with Peter Tägtgren behind the recording console and then returned to their own studio that by now, in typical Sabaton-esque manner was called “The Eagle’s Nest” after a joke made by the bands lightning engineer to record the rest of the album.
In early February 2010 Fredrik Nordström, assisted by Andrew Hayball mixed the album together with Sabaton in Boomtown studios, and when the mastering at Masters of Audio was complete, the final master of “Coat of Arms” was sent to Nuclear Blast.
At this moment, with most of the major European festivals booked, a huge tour announced, and a new label, Sabaton stand ready to once again storm into the fire.

Strange Mercy, the beguiling new album from St. Vincent, is an unsparing examination of personal catharsis cloaked in some of the most sublime music of Annie Clark's career.
“Many of the songs are about wanting relief from pain, and searching high and low for release,” attests Clark. Such powerful emotions prompted — demanded, really — not just a bracingly candid lyrical style but a new musical approach. St. Vincent's acclaimed 2007 debut album Marry Me was created almost entirely on a laptop; the exquisite follow-up, 2009's Actor, was a collection of arrangements fashioned into ornately structured songs. Strange Mercy, she says, is different. "I just wrote the songs first and didn't worry about the embellishments. On the last album, I could play about three songs by myself on guitar. On this album, I can play every song that way."
Strange Mercy features very little of the baroque strings, woodwinds, and reeds that marked Actor, and the grooves are sturdy, deep and beguiling. "I wanted to make things direct and immediate," Clark says. "I didn't tinker. I tried to keep the arrangements pretty simple and use just enough instrumentation to get the point across. I didn't want anything to get in the way." Consequently, it's a much more guitar-oriented album than Clark has ever made. Clark is one of the most gifted guitarists to come along in the new millennium, and Strange Mercy is filigreed with indelible hooklines and ingenious rhythm parts, not to mention a concise and debonair solo on "Neutered Fruit" and a couple of Frippy freakouts on the glorious "Northern Lights."
And with all that musical real estate opened up, Clark literally sings more on Strange Mercy than on the previous two — there was just much more to say. So the voice is paramount, shape-shifting to the demands of each song: on "Chloe in the Afternoon," Clark goes breathless and high; on "Cruel," she's practically wailing; she's languorous on "Surgeon" and r&b-inflected on the title track and "Dilettante." After spending an evening with John Valby,Audiences find themselves wanting more and more of him. What makes Valby so unique and entertaining is his uncommon rapport with the audience and his ability to mix his musical Talent with a mad-cap variety of "Dirty Ditties".Few people can resist laughing at songs that would have earned them a mouthful of soap when they were children.Valby's repertoire is composed of popular songs, limericks, classical arrangments and his own original creations.Valby has made a career out of poking fun at his audiences, stretching the limits of free speech and accepted good taste and satirizing current events from behind the piano. When he's not playing and singing, he yells obscenities:the audience yells back and everyone has a good time.
The best way to descibe John Valby is to blend the following performers: Allen Sherman,
spike Jones, Lenny Bruce and Wierd Al Yankovic all topped off with the Dirt of Redd Foxx, Only better. |
